Meet Our Staff

Mary Beth Cooney, Executive Director

Mary Beth is a seasoned administrator with more than 25 years of experience in non-profit management, event planning, volunteer facilitation, development and grant writing.  She has always been interested in holistic health and healing. With her skills and experience, Mary Beth is poised to carry on the excellent work begun by our co-founders, Annie Murphy and Joan Baer, and to further the growth of Creature Comfort Pet Therapy. An active volunteer herself, Mary Beth volunteers her time to the Public Library Board, the Rotary Club and as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children in the Foster system).  She has owned many kinds of pets and rescue animals.  Since she is originally from the South, that list even included an armadillo!  Her favorite outdoor activities include hiking, biking and gardening.

Karen Clark, Evaluation Coordinator

Before starting a family, Karen worked on large scale web application projects as a Project Manager. Once the family started to grow, Karen left the corporate world to follow her passion and began working part time in animal related fields. Karen has worked as a Veterinary Technician and is in the process of becoming a certified professional dog trainer. Her detail orientated nature and experience working with animals makes her a perfect fit at Creature Comfort as the Evaluations Coordinator. Karen has three certified therapy animals which include her Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Great Dane and a very cuddly rabbit. Karen loves getting out on visits with her pets or anything related to the outdoors with her family.
